Railway Tourism

Indian railways own one of the largest railways network on the globe. As the tourism industry in India is booming at very high rate and Indian Railways is doing ever thing in order to capitalize on this opportunity. India has been a favorite tourist destination for years. Railway tourism is the new mantra of encouraging the tourism in India. Railways offer the most economic and reliable way to travel across various tourist destinations.

Railways had started many trains in order to increase railway tourism. Trains such as Bharat Darshan, Fairy Queen, Hill Trains and Deccan Odyssey.

Bharat Darshan :- Bharat Darshan Special Tour Train is one of the cheapest and most efficient way to take the country tour by train. It is the most affordable train. The tour package cost only Rs500 per day per person. This includes traveling in second class sleeper coaches, hall accommodation for night stay, guided tour, food etc.

Fairy Queen :- The train which is a legend in itself. This train holds the Guinness Book of world record and also the National Tourism Award. The 60 seater chair car takes you to a scenic journey of Sariska Tiger Reserve for an overnight stay.The train starts from Delhi, covering Alwar and then an overnight stay at Sariska and back. The only drawback is that this train operates from month of October to march and on 2nd and 4th Saturday only.

Hill Trains :- Indian railways has a very unique and amazing network of hill trains also. These trains take you to the wonderful and most beautiful hills all across the India. Travel in the toy trains of Himalayas and enjoy breath taking view from Kalka to Shimla, New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling.

Deccan Odyssey :- Take a royal and luxury  tour of the western part of India on Deccan Odyssey Train Tour. This train will take you to the ride which covers most historic places and forts. The train starts from Mumbai and arrives at Bhoke railway station. Arrangements are made for proper sightseen and then an overnight journey to Sindhudurg. This train starts from Delhi and takes you to a 7 days tours covering places such as Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, SawaiMadhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur and Bharatpur.
